Mr. Woods has more than fifty years of experience in agribusiness and agriculture products. Since 2012, he has served as Chairman and CEO of Targeted Growth Inc., a biotechnology firm with leading edge gene technologies that significantly improve yield in agronomic crops. Prior to that, he served as CEO of Athena Biotechnologies, Inc., Chairman of Syngenta Corporation, Group President for Zeneca Ag Products, and CEO of Garst Seed Company. Mr. Woods has a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture and Horticulture from the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

A 28-plus-year agricultural industry veteran, Helash comes to Marrone Bio from Agrinos AS, a global-scale biological crop input provider specializing in biofertilizers and biostimulant products. As chief executive officer of Agrinos since November 2017, Helash has led a major restructuring and transformation of the company to create a platform for future long-term growth.

Prior to joining Agrinos, Helash was a vice president and corporate officer with Agrium (now Nutrien Ltd.), one of the world’s largest agricultural product distributors. During his 26-year career, he held senior management roles leading global sales, marketing, logistics and supply chain strategies. In international leadership positions for Agrium spanning the Americas and Europe, he interfaced directly with growers, retail and wholesale distributors, and investors. As head of the company’s Canadian retail operations, Helash grew the organization to a multi-billion-dollar revenue entity, and led the successful acquisition and integration of Viterra’s retail agribusiness to create the largest agricultural retail organization in Canada.

Lara L. Lee is an experienced independent director, board and committee chair, chief executive and Fortune 500 public company officer with extensive international experience across Europe and Asia-Pacific and a focus on ESG as a driver of growth. Ms. Lee is a recognized expert in strategic marketing and innovation who brings 30 years’ experience leading growth and transformation, dealing with market, channel and digital disruption, and delivering P&L impact from strategy through execution in high growth, turnaround and restructuring situations across a wide range of industries. She currently serves on the boards of direct-to-consumer houseplant retailer The Sill, Inc., progressive produce distributor Organically Grown Company, and WD-40 Company (NASDAQ:WDFC). Ms. Lee holds a B.A. in Chinese Language from Brown University, a Master’s in International Studies from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from The Wharton School.

Dr. Pamela Marrone, Founder of Marrone Bio Innovations (MBI), started the company in 2006 to discover and develop effective and environmentally-responsible, biologically-based products for pest management and plant health. In August 2013, she led the company to be listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange, raising net proceeds of $56.4 million.

Prior to establishing MBI, Dr. Marrone founded AgraQuest (1995-2006) where she served as its CEO, Chairman and President. Before AgraQuest, she was founding president of Entotech, Inc. (1990-1995), a biopesticide subsidiary of Novo Nordisk. Pam started her career in biopesticides by leading the Insect Biology group at Monsanto (1983-1990), which was involved in pioneering projects based on natural products and plant biotechnology.

In February 2019, she was awarded Lifetime Achievement Award for contributions in biopesticides by BioAg World. In January 2019, she was awarded the “Sustie” award by the Ecological Farming Association for her decades-long leadership in sustainable agriculture. In October 2014, Dr. Marrone was awarded Agrow’s “Best Manager with Strategic Vision” for her career-long leadership in biopesticides. Dr. Marrone received the NRDC’s Growing Green Award in “Business Leader” category, to recognize new pioneers in sustainable farming and food. She is an alumni-elected trustee of Cornell University, Treasurer of the Association for Women in Science, Board member of the Foundation for Food and Ag Research and is past-Treasurer of the Organic Farming Research Foundation. She is Founding Chair of the Bio Products Industry Alliance (BPIA), a trade association of more than 100 biopesticide and related companies. She is on the UC Davis Ag and Environmental Sciences Dean’s Advisory Council and served for many years on the Cornell University College of Ag and Life Sciences Dean’s Advisory Council. She holds several hundred patents and is in high demand to deliver keynote addresses on the future and potential of biologicals for pest management, innovation and entrepreneurship. She was elected by her peers as a Fellow of AAAS (American Assoc. for the Advancement of Science). Dr. Marrone has a B.S. in entomology with Honors and Distinction from Cornell University and a Ph.D. in entomology from North Carolina State University. She is a Fellow of the AAAS (American Association for the Advancement of Science).

Mr. Mago, Senior Advisor to Ospraie Ag Science LLC (the venture arm of Ospraie Management LLC, a commodities investment firm), has over 15 years of experience in fundamental, bottom-up investing across a variety of industries globally, including agriculture, travel, consumer, transportation, industrials and real estate. Previously, Mr. Mago worked as a Senior Investment Analyst at hedge funds Ospraie Management LLC and Merchants’ Gate Capital LP. Mr. Mago is the President and Co-Founder of Operation Water, a nonprofit organization that aims to deliver sustainable access to clean water in impoverished countries through the development of scalable infrastructure projects. In addition he is on the Advisory Board of Girl Rising, the nonprofit organization behind the worldwide social action campaign for girls’ education and empowerment. Mr. Mago has a bachelor’s degree in Finance and International Business from New York University.

Keith McGovern brings over 30 years of experience in the agriculture industry to the Board of Directors, specializing in the management of commercial potato farming and processing operations. Mr. McGovern is President of R.D. Offutt Farms, one of the largest farming and food processing firms in the United States. Under his direction, the company sustainably manages a land base of approximately 210,000 acres. Mr. McGovern also serves on the Management Committee of Lamb-Weston/RDO Frozen, a joint venture frozen potato product processing plant. Additionally, Mr. McGovern serves on the Board of Directors of the Alliance for Potato Research and Education, and on the Board of Governors of Idahoan Foods, LLC, a major producer of potato flake products. Mr. McGovern is a graduate of Embry Riddle Aeronautical University with a degree in Aeronautical Science.

Dr. Wochok joined the Board in 2016. He is currently President and Founder of the consulting company The Wochok Group, LLC. Previously he was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of PGP International, Inc., a a 250+ employee stand-alone company of ABF Ingredients Company, a division of Associated British Foods, based in Woodland, CA. Before that, he also served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NURTURE, Inc. (in Missoula, MT), as President and Chief Operating Officer of Calgene, Inc., which was then publicly traded, and as the Chief Executive Officer of Plant Genetics, Inc. (also of Davis, CA), during which time the company completed an initial public offering and later merged with Calgene, Inc., creating the largest plant biotechnology company in the United States. He has also served as business development manager in the new ventures department at Monsanto and a lead scientist for Weyerhaeuser Company.

Dr. Wochok currently serves as Chairman of UC Davis’ California Institute of Food and Agricultural Research. He also serves as Industry Advisor to Michaelson Capital and is Director/Board Advisor, to Nucelis, Inc. and Cibus Global in San Diego, CA. Previously he served on the Board of Advisors for the biopesticide company, Phyllom, Inc.

Dr. Wochok began his career as a professor of biology at the University of Alabama, following an NIH funded post-doctoral position at Yale University. Dr. Wochock received his Ph.D. in Cell Biology and Plant Physiology from the University of Connecticut, an M.S. in Biology from Villanova University and a B.S. in Biology from La Salle University.

Stuart Woolf is President and CEO of Woolf Farming & Processing, a family owned producer and processor of agricultural commodities, including tomatoes and almonds. Concurrently, Mr. Woolf is the Managing Partner of Harris Woolf California Almonds and Los Gatos Tomato Products. Mr. Woolf has served as Chairman of the California League of Food Processors, the Almond Board of California, and of the UC President’s Commission of Agriculture and Natural Resources. Mr. Woolf currently serves on the board of Ruiz Food Products and Western Growers Association. Mr. Woolf received a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts from the University of California at Berkeley and an MBA at Boston College.
