DAVIS, Calif., Oct. 30, 2014 — Marrone Bio Innovations, Inc. (MBI) (Nasdaq:MBII), a leading global provider of bio-based pest management and plant health products, announced today that its Founder and Chief Executive Officer Pam Marrone has received a 2014 Agrow Award for “Best Manager with Strategic Vision.” Marrone was honored at the Agrow Awards’ 2014 ceremony and dinner last night in Amsterdam.

The inaugural “Best Manager with Strategic Vision” award recognizes a manager who through a strategic initiative was able to achieve clearly identifiable targets in areas such as new product launches, new market penetration and company performance.

“I am extremely honored to have received this prestigious award,” said Pam Marrone, CEO of MBI. “Our strategic vision is focused on discovering and developing effective and environmentally responsible bio-based products that promote plant health and control unwanted pests in agriculture. We look forward to continuing to execute on this vision and bringing new agricultural innovations to market through Integrated Pest Management. On behalf of my colleagues at MBI who are critical to making our vision a reality, I would like to thank the Agrow Awards for honoring our company with this award.”

MBI was also a 2014 Agrow Award finalist for “Best Industry Collaboration” for its partnership with DSM Food Specialties B.V. (DSM), a Netherlands-based manufacturer of specialty ingredients for international food and beverage industries. MBI’s strategic partnership with DSM is focused on maximizing the potential power, reach and value of novel active ingredients for bio-based products that promote plant health and control unwanted pests in agriculture. Through this collaboration, both companies and their respective industries at either end of the food supply chain stand to benefit from the identification of new bio-based solutions for improved crop production and food safety.

The prestigious Agrow Awards, presented by Agrow, a leading information provider for the global crop protection industry, features 13 categories in areas such as R&D, formulation, innovation, collaboration, marketing, business strategy and corporate responsibility. Candidates were judged by an independent panel of industry experts, before announcing the winners on October 29th.
